GRENEWAY’S Year 5/6 swim team travelled Letchworth recently to take on St Christopher School in their annual meet – with the Royston team coming out on top by 69 points to 47.

All Greneway swimmers swam personal bests (PB) for 25m and in the relay teams. The outstanding achievements of the meet were new Year group school records for Evie Harrington in the 25m breaststroke (23.04secs) and James Fox in the 25m butterfly (21.23secs). The effort and team spirit shown were exceptional with many swimmers making their competitive debuts for the school.

The boys team scored 37 points to St Christopher’s 21 in a thrilling competition and the girls scored 32 to the hosts 26 to leave Greneway edging an overal victory.

Anyone interested in swimming for the club needs to contact Royston Leisure Centre. Swimming nights are Mondays and Fridays 6-8pm.
