GRENEWAY School's years five and six won the inaugural swim meet with St Christopher School in Letchworth GC.

Each Greneway swimmer clocked up personal bests over the 25m distance and in the relay teams, and Christy Stubbs broke the school's butterfly record which has stood since 1998.

The boys' team tied on 30 points with their counterparts and the girls scored 33 to the hosts 27 meaning that Greneway edged the contest 63 to 57.

The Greneway squad are now in training for their next event: the Hertfordshire Primary Schools' Relays Championships on November 14.

Swimming nights are Mondays and Fridays 6 - 8pm.
