GRENEWAY entertained Fearnhill School (Letchworth) in their second league encounter of this snow-disrupted North Herts Schools' under-12s league season.

In a very tight first quarter, which finished 8-8, both teams played some good basketball and secured good baskets but the visitors were already finding that their robust style getting them into early foul trouble.

The second period saw Greneway play with more composure and this confidence allowed their skills to show through and the result of this was a dominant passage of play which yielded a 14 point lead at the interval with all the home team's players making useful contributions by half-time.

The third quarter gave Greneway a chance to show off their defensive skills as they limited Fearnhill to only four points in the whole period.

Individually Greneway did their jobs well and their good play led to a number of turnovers which they were able to basket to increase their lead to 26 points as they ended the third quarter 40-14 ahead.

The final period saw the valiant Fearnhill rally on, but Greneway were now totally dominant and restricted the visitors to only one basket in this final phase of the match.

In return Greneway were able to score some impressive team baskets and coach terry Graves called them: "a work in progress, with great potential".
