GRENEWAY under-13s continued their fine start to the season by hammering previously unbeaten Barclay School 47-17 at Royston Leisure Centre. From the tip Greneway set the tone as they scored inside four seconds. The improving 'full court press' that immediately followed put the Stevenage school under intense pressure and was to be the pattern throughout the match. The first period ended in a relatively low scoring 10-4. Despite a poor start to the second period, Greneway recovered to lead 19-9 at half-time, and a dominant third period saw them stretch the advantage to 39-15 at the final break. The fourth period saw no respite for the now beleaguered visitors as the hosts dominated all phases of the game to romp to victory. Ben Jackson led the hosts' scoring with 18 points, with Ryan Ingrey chipping in with 14. Greneway were due to travel to Fearnhill School (Letchworth) on Tuesday and host Priory School (Hitchin) today (Thursday), knowing that wins in both games will seal a place in the Play-off final.
