THE first week of the 2010/11 NHTTA league programme produced encouraging results for Royston Table Tennis Club with three wins and two draws from their six matches played.
In the Premier Division, the unchanged ‘A’ team drew 5-5 with Settlement Hawks with Dave Bridges and John Manley winning two singles apiece.
In Division One, the ‘C’ team beat Settlement Ravens 7-3 thanks to Mike Malone, Haydon Gowen and Derek Fuller victories.
A revamped ‘D’ team made n electric start in Division Two against Settlement Great Tits with Derek Clark, James Hopkinson-Hughes and Chris Loffman winning two singles apiece.
In Division Three a strengthened ‘F’ team had a 6-4 success thanks to Fred Bendall and Keith Waldock wins while the ‘E’ team lost 8-2 to Comestone plus.
