HEYDON Grange Golf Club members remembered Lucy and Natalie Godfrey at the weekend when they competed for the Memorial trophy given in their name to the club by their father, Martin Godfrey.

The sisters were tragically killed in a fire and every year Heydon golfers take part in a mixed 27-hole golf competition for either the Lucy trophy for men, or the Natalie trophy for ladies.

Played over all 27 holes on the Essex, Cambs and Herts courses, two nines are drawn at random after all golfers have finished their rounds, so consistent golf and scoring is required to ensure whichever of the two courses count, your Stableford score is the best. The two courses drawn this year were the Cambs and Herts.

Martin Lane and Phil Black tied on 37 points in the runner-up position, with Steve King taking the Lucy Godfrey trophy on 38 points.

The runner-up for the Natalie Godfrey Trophy was Elaine Knobel-Forbes on 34 points, with Hazel Hayden taking the honours with 40 points.
