Golfers raise charity cash

A TEAM of golfers have raised £4,668 for Macmillan Cancer support.

Trevor Sweeting and Brian Holson of ­Royston joined Gog Magog golfer Neil Adams and Ian Mitchell of Hertford and played four rounds of golf in one day in July.

Two rounds were played at Royston, with the other two taking place at Gog Magog in Cambridge.

The team started play at 4am and after a short stop finished at 8.45pm.

Not only did they raise charity money, the foursome also qualified for the national final, which will take place on Monday at Slaney Hall Golf Club in Northumberland.
