Defending champions Sarah Buckerfield and Stuart Hart successfully defended Royston Golf Club’s charity mixed foursomes competition in memory of past Royston captain Eddie Hughes on Saturday.
The pair amassed 39 points in challenging weather conditions to secure victory in the competition, which was organised by Bridget Long. They were three points clear of second placed Gill Doughton and Peter Dean.
The ladies’ Bogey Cup was won by Sandra Joyner with 36 points. The victory sees her handicap reduced a shot to 27. Second place was taken by Carolyn Devaney, who scored 34 points.
On Sunday the men’s Four-ball competition was won by Arlo Blair and Mark Crowley with 43 points. Mick Joyner and Adam Dyer were close on their heels with 42 points in second whilst third place was taken by Mick Rowlands and Malcolm Hayes on 40 points.
