Foxton are just two victories from Lord’s after reaching the quarter-finals of the Davidstow National Village Cup for the first time.
The club secured a convincing 114-run triumph over Langleybury CC on Sunday with Cei Sanderson making a stunning 123 not out.
Kent’s Sibton Park head to the Rec on Sunday, July 26 for the next round.
Foxton first team manager Matt Gray told the Crow: “We were looking for a home tie [in the quarter-final], we’d not had one in the competition for years.
“It is a good time to get one and if we make it we will be at home in the semi-final.
“We’re not looking that far ahead though, we are focussed on the next one.”
The day started well for the away side as they won the toss and elected to bat.
Opener Sanderson was a man on a mission and cracked his mammoth score with the help of 11 fours and five sixes from 113 balls.
David Fagan (26), Gareth Roots (22) and Adam Webster (10) chipped in as Foxton made 225-5 from their 40 overs.
Luke Samarasinghe snagged a decent 3-25 for the home side.
In reply, Langleybury struggled to cope with the in-form visitors and were all out for 111 in 31.2 overs.
Wickets were shared around between Sanderson (2-23), Roots (2-6), Fagan (2-21) and Tyler Deas (2-34) with two further run-outs.
Foxton will be hoping they can emulate near neighbours Reed who lifted the trophy at the home of cricket in 2012 after beating them en route to the final.
So far they have seen off Hethersett & Tas Valley, Fordham and Worlington in the previous rounds of the national trophy before endng Langleybury’s challenge in fine style.
Gray’s side were looking to garnish their mantelpiece with more silverware after the Crow had gone to press last night in the Keatley Cup.
Foxton took on Saracens Herts League Championship side Reed in the final at Therfield, home of Royston Cricket Club.
