FOXTON were soundly beaten at Granta IIs at Clare College on Saturday.

Foxton won the toss and chose to put their opponents in to bat but instantly found wickets hard to come by and, by the time the first one fell, Nasweep (51), Granta had reached 83.

The other opener, Norman (89) formed several good partnerships throughout the afternoon which led to a healthy total of 212-7 off 48 overs.

Foxton started brightly in reply and reached 56 before Procajto was out for 31. This prompted another batting collapse and a further seven wickets fell for only 41 runs.

The tail wagged slightly, but Foxton eventually subsided for a poor 135 all-out off 39 overs.

Next week Foxton are at home to Khalsa.
