FOXTON were comprehensively beaten on Saturday (October 28) in the first round of the league cup when they faced tough opposition in Premier Division club Over Sports at Foxton Rec.
After a close first half in which Foxton created three good early chances, they fell behind just before the break, to a soft goal.
They fell further behind 10 minutes into the second half when a looping shot beat stand-in keeper Andy Cambridge and went in off the cross bar.
This signalled a Foxton change, as they had to try and get back in the game, so manager Audley switched to three up front and three at the back and although Foxton created chances they were punished when Over caught them on the break.
Andy Wilkins had a good game for Foxton in his first start of the season, but could not prevent the Premier title challengers grabbing a further two goals and progressing to the next round.
Foxton are back to league action on Saturday (November 4) when they travel to leaders Wisbech Town Reserves.
