CAMBS Senior Division 2 league leaders Foxton maintained their grip at the top of the table despite having to settle for a draw on Saturday.

A slide in momentum has seen Matt Gray's side's lead cut short, and despite second placed Waresley's two-wicket win at Castor & Ailsworth, Foxton remain favourites for the title.

Mid table Fordham did make a little dent on Saturday, reaching 197 for 9 with Darren Theobald (43), Graham Arnold (30) and Jason Harding (38 not out) doing much for the hosts' innings.

Max Bowen made sure the damage was limited by clean bowling Mark Silcock (7), Chris Rule (7) and Adam Cornwell (0), as well as taking the wicket of opener Gavin Harding (8) courtesy of Adrian Ingrey's catch.

In reply, both Patrick Joseph (16) and Bowen (11) made bright starts, however when they were bowled by Clinton Cornwell and Jason Harding respectively, it was Lawrence Farnum who propelled the visitors forward with a coolly worked 45.

Paul Dean (3) came and went, before Antonnel Atwell impressed once more with a valuable 27.

Sam Sabey (4) and Dennis Sabey (8) also went fairly quickly, while Ingrey added some needed calm with a well-taken 21.

With the overs decreasing, Foxton could only muster 16, and despite the best efforts of Andrew Cambridge they ended on 161 for 9.
