FOWLMERE Metals produced a fine all round performance to claim their first trophy of the season against fellow BIS League 1B opponents Gamlingay.
Gamlingay started the brighter of the two and caused a few early problems but it was Metals who took the lead on 20 minutes when Rob Gwynne launched a raking 50-yard pass in behind the Gamlingay defence which Charlie Bryan coolly despatched with a lob from the edge of the box.
And they doubled the lead just before half time when Jez McMurrough played a one-two with Bryan before finishing first time into the bottom corner.
They made it three through Dave McMurrough before Bryan added a fourth shortly after following a run down the right from Darren Chamberlain.
The victory was Metals' first win in the competition for fifteen years.
