Four goals from Matt Campany helped Buntingford Cougars under 16s romp to an 8-2 win at Bishop's ­Stortford Rangers.

Campany was on target twice in the first half, and added two more after the break, with the fourth - a precise lob after some neat approach play - being the best of the bunch.

Skipper Josh Wagstaff netted a double, with Harry Lee-Stevens and new signing Josh Lloyd-Skinner completing the rout.

There was also a big win for Cougars under-15s, who were 7-2 victors over Austin Arrowheads.

Buntingford scored three goals inside the first 20 minutes through Scott Piggott, Michael Holland, and Chris James.

Although some sloppy defending allowed Arrowheads to get a goal back, Cougars pulled away in the second half. Ollie Woodcock added a fourth goal from a corner.

Arrowheads made it 4-2 shortly afterwards, but further goals from Holland, Ben Johnson, and Alfie Long saw Buntingford home.

An enthralling match in the under-11s county cup first round saw Buntingford under-11s come from behind three times to get the better of Herts Rangers.

Rangers took the lead early on, but an excellent finish from Callum Faik made it 1-1. After a second Rangers goal, George Ganellin restored parity, keeping his cool to net the rebound after his penalty had been saved.

After Herts hit the front for a third time, Liam Price pulled it back to 3-3 before Aiden Gaffney, and Faik with his second goal, made the final score 5-3 and secured their teams place in round two.

Two excellent strikes capped a 4-1 win for Buntingford Cougars under-9s over Bedwell.

Paul Briffett and Olly Pallett gave their team a 2-0 half time lead, aided by keeper Josh Wyett, who pulled off a fine penalty save.

In the second half a powerful free kick from Briffett made it 3-1, before Pallett completed the scoring, with a great solo effort.

Buntingford under-10s stripes team picked up their first win of the ­season, edging out Potton Colts 1-0.

The only goal of the game came from Alfie Arnold, who went past two players, and found the bottom corner with a low shot.

Sout defending from Reece Voller and Same Pye ensured Cougars held on.

Will Silverosa got both goals as Buntingford under-13s beat Stevenage Borough Blues 2-1.

After falling behind early on, Buntingford took control. Silverosa's two goals were the icing on the cake of a good all-round team performance.

Eynesbury Rovers Under-12 0 Baldock Town Youth Templars 4

BALDOCK reached the second round of the league cup. George Higginson scored after 15 minutes, before Eynesbury mounted a brief comeback with Alex Taylor ­making a number of great saves. The Baldock lead was extended when Daniel Nicholson and Jordan Massey freed Corey Lockwood. William Budd and Ryan Savage had to make a couple of last ditch tackles to keep the hosts at bay, before Judges' cross from the right wing was steered home by Massey. Then Judges squared the ball to Dylan Walsh, who set up Lockwood for his second and Baldock's fourth.

Letchworth Eagles Under-13 Blue 2 Royston Town Colts A 5

ROYSTON jumped to the top of Division Three with Jordan Hall netting all five. Hall now has 11 goals so far this season.

He struck early on with a spectacular long range effort, and doubled the lead with a simple tap in.

Conor Saggers and Harry Stafford then combined to play Hall in for his third.

Hall then made it four with another fine finish.

Colts continued to dominate in the second half, with man-of-the-match Jake Benstead in good form.

However, the Eagles refused to roll over and after forcing Jamie Seabrook to make a string of top saves, the hosts grabbed a deserved consolation.

The home side then added another, before Hall completed the win.

Royston Town Colts 10 Letchworth Garden City 1

A HAT-TRICK from Jacob Leighton and a brace from man-of-the-match Jake Booth saw Royston hammer their Division One rivals and move to the top of the table.

Royston took an early lead thanks to a Letchworth defender. Booth opened his account with a fine strike from outside the box, before Kieran Willis-Wright added a third.

Booth added another powerful strike before the interval, with Jacob Leighton chipping home a fifth minutes into the second half.

Jack Anderson and Will Heslam combined down the left to win a corner, which Ellis King delivered to the head of Matt Brennan for six.

Lewis Townsend and Heslam scored either side of a Letchworth consolation, before Leighton chipped the keeper for a second time.

The lively striker then made it double figures for Royston and completed his hat-trick.

AS a contest this game was over in 10 minutes as Royston attacked Hitchin from the off. Early goals from George Bailey and Bradley Calvert set the hosts on the road before Rhys Westbury scored his second goal of the season.

Colts conceded a penalty just before half time before Robbie Norman made it 4-1 with a well-taken headed goal.

After the re-start Bailey swept home his second of the game.

Defender Jacob Townsend and keeper Alistair Richardson held firm, and Bailey claimed a hat-trick with another cool finish.

Royston Town Colts Under-10 B 1 Hitchin Town Arrows B 0

A GOAL from Royston's Mackenzie Harris was enough to give the hosts all three points in what was another hard working performance.

With Thomas McGee controlling the midfield and Sam Chapman, Conner Eustace and John Kane holding firm at the back the game was never in doubt.

Jordan Howe and Danny Mynott came close, but in the end Harris' first half header was all Royston needed.

Bassingbourn Under-10 Knights 2 Broadhall Youth 3

A GOAL five minutes from time snatched Bassingbourn's share of the points in what was an evenly matched game.

James Bairstow caused problems with his pace. But against the run of play, Broadhall took the lead.

Bairstow put Bassingbourn level before Broadhall took the lead for a second time just before the break.

A superb second half strike from Bairstow levelled the scores. And just when a draw looked likely, a Broadhall striker poked home a late winner.

BASSINGBOURN were trailing by two goals after just five minutes despite the best efforts of defender Alice ­Gumble. By the interval the visitors were 4-0 up with two more well-worked goals. After the break Daze fought back, with Ben Lynn and Nicholas Partridge working hard. But they conceded a fifth near the end.

Stotfold Juniors Under-9 B 1 Melbourn Dynamos Tigers 1

IT was a much improved Tigers ­performance on Sunday, with the teams' defenders in commanding form.

With man-of-the-match Josh Hutton making his debut in goal, Melbourn looked more comfortable and solid at the back. And defensive duo Jessica Porter and Izzy Broadbent were excellent in keeping the Stotfold attack at bay.

Melbourn took the lead midway through the first half through Sam Austin.

After Stotfold equalised Melbourn held firm and never looked like conceding with Ayrton Barnes, Joe Greeman and Jack Morley defending well.

Bishop's Stortford Under-12 11 Melbourn Dynamos Panthers 1

Melbourn came unstuck against one of Division One's strongest teams.

Despite going into the break 4-0 down Melbourn battled well, with Joe Walsh, Clyde Thompson, Liam Tidey and Adam Breeze working hard in midfield.

In the second half Joe Carrington found time to test the home keeper with a couple of powerful strikes.

Panthers were rewarded when Tidey snatched a deserved goal.

Joe Reddan worked tirelessly upfront for Melbourn with Cameron Douglas and Brennan Friel adding pace late on.

Melbourn Dynamos Panthers A 1 Letchworth Garden City Blue 3

LETCHWORTH came out on top in a game that produced some excellent football from both sides.

The visitors tested the home keeper Ross Cockburn. But after a couple of good saves he was finally beaten with a good strike from outside the box.

James Rushton set up Sam Bedlow for the equaliser, but the visitors regained the lead after the break, despite Ben Webb battling for ­Melbourn.

Letchworth completed the scoring late in the game.

Hatfield Youth Yellows Under-10 A 0 Royston Celtic 0

Celtic had to settle for a share of the points at Hatfield. At the back Robbie Filby held firm, and gave keeper Jack Mills very little to do. Royston tried hard to create a breakthrough, with Matthew Foley working hard.

MATTHEW Cudmore rescued Celtic with a goal and assist as Royston bounced back. Royston trailed 2-0 at half-time, with Jimi Smith going closest for them They hit back in the second half with a goal from Cudmore, who then set up Tom McGlynn for a deserved equaliser.

Wymondley Park 0 Ashwell Under-9 A 2

ASHWELL had their shooting boots on once more with their fourth successive win. And after scoring six goals last week the impressive James Lee scored two more to help his side maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Ashwell registered their first win of the season - and in some style. The visitors were in control from the off, with Dean Chappell shining with a well-taken hat-trick. Henry Balden and Alex Wood grabbed the other goals.
