Buntingford Swimming Club is trawling for swimmers, coaches and officials involved in the formation of the club in 1976.

The club, based at the Ward Freeman pool, is planning a 30th anniversary celebration later this year and wants to trace as many people involved at the start as possible.

Meanwhile, neighbours Royston are looking to future bolstered by the arrival of six new swimmers.

A batch of youngsters has joined the club from Melbourn Swimming Club and will fight for places in Royston's Hertfordshire Major League squad, which begins its campaign in the New Year.

Royston formed links with Melbourn earlier this year in the hope of encouraging fresh talent and coach Tricia Dear hopes that the new arrivals are the start of a production line.
