A SUPERB all-round team effort from Colts saw them fight back from two goals down to take a share of the points in this highly competitive home fixture against Hitchin Town Youth.

Hitchin took an early lead from a well-taken corner. Colts hit back almost immediately, Jake Benstead latching onto a terrific through ball from Jordan Hall to slot home past the advancing keeper.

The visitors then regained the lead with a slightly fortuitous goal that left stand-in 'keeper Jamie Seabrook completely stranded.

Colts responded again, Benstead putting through Lucas Sekobawane who coolly notched his sixth in as many games.

Both sides had further chances to score, Hall seeing his effort cleared off the Hitchin line, Conor Saggers also going close for Colts.

At the back, Sam Cooper, was in tremendous form making some vital interceptions alongside the solid central-defensive partnership of Hall and Ashley Chapman.

Shortly after the restart, Colts went down to 10 men after an injury to captain, Benstead.

Hitchin took full advantage of the extra man, netting twice in quick succession, with only the safe hands of Seabrook preventing Hitchin from scoring more.

Colts, however, were not to be outdone and, restored to full strength, responded with real character, John Middlemass pulling one back from close range after a terrific goalmouth scramble. Sam Hunter then equalised with his first of season from an acute angle after a super strike from Harry Stafford.

Stafford was then on-hand at the other end to make a last gasp clearance to ensure a fair outcome to a terrific game of football.

Colts: J Seabrook, S Cooper, A Chapman, J Hall, H Stafford, M McLean, J Benstead(c), J Middlemass, S Hunter, C Saggers, L Sekobawane.
