Park Street 2 Buntingford Town 1

DESPITE the 2-1 defeat, Town's assistant manager Paul Fisher believes the side's latest showing produced a lot of positives.

He said: "Considering we lost the game it wasn't a bad performance at all. I think we were unlucky not to have taken something - a draw would have probably been the fair result.

"We changed a few things and shuffled the line up, and we looked a lot better for it. From front to back we looked a lot more solid and there were a lot of strong performances out there."

A bright start saw Buntingford threaten the Park Street goal. However, the visitors were trailing after 30 minutes with Andrew Findlay netting for the hosts.

Chances did fall for Town, with both Phil Fisher and Ross Whitaker going close, before Lee Downham missed a clear header just before half time.

After the break, Buntingford continued to press forward with Fisher again going close for an equaliser.

However, the hosts wrestled the game back in their favour, and Findlay added his second of the game with a crisp finish following a move through the middle of the park.

With 10 minutes left Ryan Geraghty reduced the arrears, beating three players before slotting a confident strike past the Park Street keeper.

A frantic final period followed, with further chances falling Town's way. However, the hosts somehow kept Buntingford at bay, and held on for their third straight win.

Fisher said: "We had a few chances late on and that showed that we could have taken more from the game.

"We have Bovingdon at home on Saturday, and like most of the teams in this league, they are beatable. Hopefully we can build on this recent performance and get a result.
