THE Crows progressed to the semi-finals of the Reserve Challenge Trophy with this win.

Holidays and last minute sickness meant Royston travelled with no fewer than five under-18 players in a 12 man squad and things got worse when skipper Mark Roach limped off after 15 minutes.

Wodson started the stronger and put Royston under pressure with a crisp direct style but Michael Bloss opened the scoring for Royston and moments later the prolific Graham Tibbals doubled the advantage after good work from Chris Morriss.

The second half started with Wodson pulling a goal back from close range but Royston put the game to bed soon afterwards with a thunderous 30-yard drive from Mark Wright and a Danny Scott goal.

Stand-in skipper Dean Chaffney said: "For all of us today this is a great result.
