HORMEAD Hares under-10s took on Bishop's Stortford CFC Blues and Wanderers under-10s to mixed results.

The Hares ran out the winners in the first game thanks to a Joseph de Souza goal in the seventh minute of the first half but although both teams went close at other times in the game, there were no more goals.

For the Hares, the solid defensive work of Callum Edwards earned him the player of the match award.

In the second game, the Hares rode their luck and reached half time with the game goalless although Michael Hicks' shot had to be cleared with the goalkeeper beaten.

There were some brave saves from player-of-the-match Charlie Gates before the Wanderers scored twice in the second half to take all of the points.

These were two sporting games, played by well matched teams with a good level of skill shown by all players.
