FOWLMERE Metals bounced back from last week's defeat with a win against newly-promoted Sawston.

In the first half Fowlmere saw more of the ball and were rewarded when Van Der Merwe's free kick was deflected into the path of McGrath, who rammed the ball home from two yards.

Sawston equalised as a result of some questionable Metals defending, but Van Der Merwe pulled the strings once more to find Brian, who slotted past the home side's keeper with ease.

However, their joy was cut short once more when a mix-up in defence allowed Sawston to score with an easy chance.

Manager Danny Crotty reshuffled his team at half time, with his changes proving dividends.

Within five minutes of the restart, Metals were in front for the third time after Stokes broke from midfield to find Hunter.

Receiving the pass, Hunter weaved past his markers and finished in style.
