Royston Town Hearts and Diamonds U10s were in League Cup action on Sunday with both teams going through to the next round.

Hearts started brightly against Bishop’s Stortford and scored in the first five minutes when George Turner’s shot hit the bar and Man of the Match Louis Harward was there to put in the rebound.

After the break Hearts started where they left off playing some excellent football and were soon 3-0 up with Harward scoring his second before Charlie Johnson scored from a Harward corner with a stunning strike.

The fourth goal came from Harward, completing his hat-trick. Hearts conceded a penalty in the last few minutes but run out comfortable winners.

Diamonds also played some very good football in their game at Bishop’s Stortford. Diamonds went ahead with two goals from Willem Louwers in the first half. Diamonds continued to dominate the play in the second half and soon added a third thanks to a Thomas Allen strike. Stortford got a goal back in the last seconds of the game but it was Diamonds who came away with a well deserved win. Man of the Match Findlay Livingstone.
