ROYSTON Town got back to winning ways after last week's goalless draw by thumping their London based opponents at Garden Walk on Saturday.
The two sides had met only eight weeks ago in what was a very tight fixture, but this was a completely different story with another Craig Hammond hat-trick and a brace from Will Turl pushing the home side into fourth place in the table.
The Crows went straight on the attack from the off and Will Turl, playing his final game before a round the world tour with the army, put them in front after 12 minutes tapping home at the back post following some good play from Hammond.
Turl went close moments later with a powerful volley, with Luke Robins and Carl Edwards also going before Turl doubled the lead 10 minutes before half time heading in Tom Malins's cross.
It was more of the same in the second half, with the visitors failing to trouble the Royston defence, while at the other end the hosts continued to dominate.
Hammond then made it 3-0, ramming home a loose ball in the box before volleying in a fourth following another Malins cross.
The powerful striker then grabbed his fourth Royston hat-trick to complete another comfortable rout, rounding the Sport London e Benfica keeper after a brilliant through ball from man-of-the-match David Cain.
Manager Paul Attfield said: "It was another comfortable victory for us. I had expected a tough game but the lads really got into gear. They kept things simple and they got their rewards."
Royston Town: Williamson; Endacott, J Babbage, Cain, Hollingsworth; Reid, Edwards (Galvin), Malins, Robins (Garner); W Turl (Townsend), Hammond. (Subs not used): Chappell, Gibson.
