FOWLMERE travel to league rivals Cambourne Rovers on Saturday in search of a much-needed three points.

Having slipped to 11th place Fowlmere sit one place and point above Rovers in the BIS Division 1A table.

Manager Steve Walker said: "It's an important game for us and we obviously need to get the three points. It's a game that we can certainly win, and hopefully we can turn things around."

And Fowlmere will be boosted by the signing of experienced striker Sean Audley from near neighbours Foxton, and the return of striker Danny Mizon.

Walker said: "Sean is a great signing for us, because he's going to give us a lot of experience and quality. He's already scored 14 goals this season, so hopefully he can add to that tally for us.

"And Danny should also be back in contention, having been unavailable for the past few months. It will be good to get him back in the side, because I've think we've really missed him lately.

"Again he gives us experience and quality up top and at the start of the season he was scoring some very important goals for us."

The Cambourne match is the first of three games in a six day period for Fowlmere, who face Great Chishill in the Foster Cup on Tuesday and Elsworth Sports in the Bambridge Cup on Thursday.

Walker said: "We've been looking forward to the cup games, and I think we've got a great chance of progressing in both of them. I think we have to concede that we're not going to get promoted this season, so these cup games will come as a welcome distraction.

"And if we can get the results, it could well give us the momentum to push on in the league and end the season in a positive position. But I'm still very pleased with how our season has gone, and despite a slip recently we have come a long way from this point last year.
