A SUPERB goalkeeping display from Will McFadden was not enough to prevent his team from an opening game defeat.

The score was 0-0 at half time, largely thanks to the heroics of the Bassingbourn keeper, who made a string of stunning saves.

And when he was finally beaten it was down to a deflection that sent the ball in the opposite direction.

The goal gave the hosts a boost and moments later they had added two more goals.

Goal number four was also lucky to find its way past McFadden despite his and defender Ben Lynn's best efforts.

With the win in the bag, Letchworth added number five before the final whistle.
