STEEPLE Morden came away from Harston with a point - but knew it should have been three.

On a wide pitch, manager Kenny Watters went for five across the midfield with Steeple taking little time to find their rhythm.

The visitors soon began to cause their opponents problems and deservedly took the lead when captain Charlie Prothero fired in a long- range effort.

Wing-back Martin Donald almost increased the lead after twice breaking clear.

The tireless Ben Holt and Jim Edey also missed good opportunities, and with a bit more luck Steeple could have been out of sight.

In the second half, Harston found a new belief and equalised from a clever free kick, before taking the lead with a great 35-yard strike.

It would have been a cruel blow for Steeple.

But Dom Holt rescued the game when he turned in Andy Smith's free kick with another accomplished finish.
