BUNTINGFORD play Whitewebbs on Saturday - the team they lost out to for last year's title in controversial fashion.

Whitewebbs were awarded the Herts Senior County League Championship last season instead of Buntingford, after Town, who had been originally crowned champions, were docked six points for fielding an ineligible player.

Chairman Richard Daly said: "We've played them many times over the years, and you know you'll always get a tough match when you go there."

Both teams have started the season well, and Town sit second in the table, thanks to a four-game winning run.

Daly expects Whitewebbs, who trail Buntingford only on goal difference, will be one of the teams to beat again this year.

He said: "Whitewebbs have been at the top level of Herts County football for the last few years, and I don't expect this season to be any different.

But we've started well, and we're confident we can get a result.

"I'm sure they feel the same, so it should be a keenly-fought match.
