ROYSTON Town Colts under-nines finally got their hands on Crow League Cup Finals winners' medals after finishing runners-up for the past three years.

First up in the group stage was Arlesey Town A, in a game Royston dominated from start to finish.

However, they had to settle for a share of the points with Connor Sandford on target in a 1-1 draw.

Rising Stars A were sent packing in a 5-0 win, with Sandford nabbing a hat-trick and Kye Jones adding a well-taken brace.

With a quarter-final place certain, the Colts then edged out St Neots Town A 1-0, with Sandford on target once more.

A 1-0 quarter-final win followed, with Ben Seabrook smashing home a golden goal winner in extra time, following some impressive defending by Charlie Dobson, Jack Logan, and Jake O'Brien.

Logan then spared Royston more extra-time, with his cool finish securing a 2-1 win over Stevenage Borough A in the semi-final, after Sandford had yet again opened the scoring for the Colts.

Keeper Matthew Houghton also played his part, with a number of key saves.

Royston met Bishop's Stortford Park in the final, and it was the impressive Sandford who made the difference, with his seventh of the tournament, ghosting past two tackles and slotting the ball past the Park keeper.
