GREAT Chishill enjoyed a second consecutive clean sheet in a deserved win over Ashdon Villa on Saturday.

The hosts started strongly and put their opponents under pressure in the opening minutes.

They were soon rewarded when a cross from the left was not dealt with by Villa's defence and Jonathan Drury crept in to finish with a neat half volley.

Chishill played with confidence and enjoyed the better of the possession but struggled to find the final ball to add to their lead.

Villa had their best spell just before half time and they came close to equalising when a 25 yard shot cannoned back off the bar.

In the second half, Chishill spurned good chances to put the game out of reach, but the visiting 'keeper did well to save at the feet of Gareth Edey and Gary Radford.

At the other end, the Chishill defence looked solid, helped by another commanding performance in goal by Andy Knight.

The points were sealed in the last minute when Peter Jackson played in substitute Oli Fitzgerald who slotted home.
