STEVENAGE Town Barca proved a tough opening game for Melbourn Dynamos Panthers with their high tempo causing a number of problems.

From the off Barca applied the pressure and were in front in minutes with a beautiful strike from the edge of the box.

Moments later it could have been two if not for the brave defending of Jack Richardson who made a superb clearance off the line.

However, the relief was short-lived because five minutes later Stevenage had goal number two after some good work down the left flank.

Melbourn's Joe Reddan and Jack Court both had chances to pull one back, but at half-time the score remained 2-0.

In the second period another chance came Alex Martin's way, but the midfielder shot wide.

Two late Barca goals put the game beyond doubt, despite some brilliant play from Melbourn keeper Sam Robinson.
