BANYERS FC fielded a strong side in this pre-season friendly and took control in the first half when Lee Wilkinson, aiming a free kick into the box, saw the ball deflected into the Gransden goal by one of their own players.

Banyers coasted to half time but in the second half made wholesale changes and the game slowed down, and they conceded when Chris Webb slid in to toe poke an equaliser for their opponents.

With the game heading towards a draw ex-player/manager for Banyers Darren Dyer headed home the winner for Gransden.

Late drama did prevail when Lee Wilkinson scored what he thought was an equaliser only for the chance to be adjudged offside by the linesman/Gransden manager.

Banyers: Matthews-Jones, Vanderahe, Halfacre, Cawdell, Wilkinson, Campbell, Draper, Muncey, Jake, Howard, Poll. Subs: Blackwell, Walker, Kane, Johnson, Butler, Hutt.
