AN experimental Royston impressed boss Paul Attfield - despite his team's failure in front of goal.
Athletic picked up their first point in just under a month following four straight league defeats, but should consider themselves lucky with The Crows dominating throughout.
Attfield said: "It wasn't the best of games, and it had a real end-of-season feel about it. But what can you expect?
"I decided to use the game as a chance to look at a few of the younger players and start a few who haven't played so much lately.
"In that sense I was very pleased because I thought that they came in and did well. We had most of the possession and should have won the match comfortably. Again we just couldn't find the goal."
Attfield gave a starting place to both Gregg Jackson and Liam Beaumont, who have always done well when called upon off the bench. Tough-tackling Jim Hollingsworth also came back into the starting 11, while 18-year-old Ricky Young impressed up front alongside Craig Hammond.
On Saturday The Crows travel to basement boys Cranfield United for their penultimate game of the season.
Attfield said: "They're battling to stay up so they're going to be up for the game.
"We haven't had the best of away records lately so it would be nice to turn that around a bit!
