Around 30 players and 13 parents took part in a fun day, including a parents vs U13/U15 match in which the parents edged out the boys.

The under-11s had a successful season, finishing fourth in a competitive league and reached the quarter finals of the cup. The side, which was ably lead by Connor Little, included a number of new players to the club. Connor took both the bowling and batting awards with 12 wickets and 85 runs. Matthew Houghton took the award for Most Improved Player.

The under-12s performed well winning four of their ten matches, only losing home and away to table topping Saffron Walden and Haverhill.

The bowling award was keenly contested with Jack Logan edging out Ryan Judge in the last match to take his tally to 12 wickets.

James May took the Most Improved award for his wicket-keeping.

In the under-13s, the bowling award was won by Callum Pinner with eight wickets. Lorcan George took the batting award with an impressive total of 254 including two 50s and an average of 28.2. Justin Leavers took the award for the Most Improved.

The U15s had a challenging season but there were notable performances from Ben Bates, who took the batting award, John Middlemass, Bonham Harper and Paul Leary. The bowling award was won by Josh Hughes. John Gourd, for his commitment and enthusiasm, won the Most Improved award.

Royston are already planning for next season and are aiming to run autumn/winter nets for all ages from under-11 through to the under-15s. The nets will be led by head coach, Dave Isherwood, and supported by a team of qualified coaches. If you would like to take part, please contact David May on 01763 246396.
