LETCHWORTH effortlessly cruised past Guildford on Saturday with a 20-point win.

Despite conceding an early penalty, the hosts fought back with Jag Johal leading by example with a series of thundering tackles.

Gavin Donald peppered the Guildford defence with a number of towering kicks and levelled the score with his own well-taken penalty kick.

Simon Hill's dominant display in the scrum was rewarded when he grabbed a rare try after a lineout and drive.

And with Andy Atkinson directing the midfield, the visitors' defence began to fall to pieces as two more penalty kicks flew over, with Letchworth finishing the half 16-3 in front.

After the re-start it was much of the same with Gary Glencross, Andy Morris, man-of-the-match Martin Kirby, and veteran Tim Moynihan all getting in on the action as the lively Peter Sterienberg dived over for another Letchworth try.
