MELBOURN Dynamos Tigers U-11 team survived a spirited fight-back to defeat Bishop Stortford Rovers 3-2 in their first match of the season.
Ian Kuenzi put Melbourn ahead after six minutes, before Eddie Twyman and Rebecca Brooker both missed chances to extended the visitors' lead.
Will Thompson pounced after Twyman's shot struck the crossbar and Kuenzi added his second of the game to put the Tigers in control of the match.
Bishop Stortford fought back in the second half and scored twice but a tired Melbourn side held on for the win.
