Dynamos snatch victory against Wymondly

Melbourn Dynamos U11s 4 Wymondly Park U11s 3

MELBOURN Dynamos U11s came away with a superb 4-3 victory against Wymondly Park after a gripping game between two well-matched teams.

Melbourn started strongly and Harry Carter put them ahead after an immaculately-judged through ball from Sam Fallon but a series of missed chances let Wymondley back into the game and Melbourn trailed 2-1 at the half-time break.

A rousing team talk brought back a more determined Melbourn for the second half as Alex Goodfellow, goalkeeper Cameron Ireland and Man of the Match Ben Greenaway all spurred their team on.

A spectacular lob from Martin Downey which cleared the entire Wymondley defence drew Melbourn level and a goal apiece from Sam Wiltshire and Ollie Deadman gave Melbourn a 4-2 lead. Wymondley pulled one back shortly before the whistle but Melbourn held on for the win.
