Melbourn Dynamos Panthers under 12's picked up their first win of the season in impressive fashion by defeating Bishop's Stortford FC Under-12s 4-0 in the first round of the Crow League Cup.

Panthers looked dangerous from the off, and took the lead when Jack Court latched on to a precise pass from James Moore and beat the keeper.

Moore and Liam Tidey were involved in the second goal, again setting up Court. This time his shot hit the post, but Jack Richardson was on hand to slot home the rebound.

The third came in the second half from Moore, who finished off a Joe Carrington pass from close range. Jack Birch got the final goal, completing a victory which should give Panthers a much needed confidence boost.

A hatful of missed chances prevented Melbourn Panthers under-nines beating Bishop Stortford Wanderers, and they were eventually defeated 3-2.

George Storey played well throughout, and gave his side the lead with a clinical finish.

However, with the home keeper in inspired form, Panthers could not add to their lead, and Stortford equalised in first half injury time.

Buoyed by that goal, the home side scored twice in quick succession in the second half, meaning Josh Bates late strike was a mere consolation goal.

Melbourn Tigers under-nines faired better, and won 4-0.

Stortford were unable to cope with Melbourn's stand in front pairing of Izzy Broadbent and Andrew Houghton, and Luke Eades gave the Tigers a 1-0 half time lead.

This was doubled by Bates, before Eades got his second and Storey completed the scoring.

Melbourn Dynamos Panthers under-10s were narrowly defeated by Knebworth Youth, going down 2-1.

The visitors fell behind when some good passing down the right culminated in a close range finish that gave Melbourn keeper Ross Cockburn no chance.

Knebworth made it 2-0 shortly afterwards, and it was then that Panthers began to play their best football.

Charlie Weber pulled one back, but despite some good play from Man of the Match Alex Maskell, they were unable to carve out an equaliser.

Ollie Hodson scored the all important goal as Ashwell Academicals under-sevens picked up their first ever win in the Crow League, beating Biggleswade 1-0.

Hodson finished well after good work from Ben Reed and William Baldwin.

Biggleswade piled on the pressure in the second half, but a string of fine saves from keeper Nathan Miles kept Ashwell in the game and helped them hang on for a deserved victory.

Skipper Edward Worby led from the front as Hormead Hares under-11s won 4-0 at Letchworth Reds.

Worby scored twice to give his side a 2-0 half time lead, which was extended in the second period by Alex Underwood.

Rhodri Hughes, who worked hard throughout the match, got the fourth goal.
