HAZEL Hayden and Ivan Drury won the Heydon Grange summer Mixed Pairs Knockout after a close 18-hole final against Adrian and Jane Patterson.
Both pairs had come through a number of rounds over the summer months and deserved to be in the final after beating some excellent partnerships.
Hayden, who plays off a 36 handicap, said she was delighted to have picked up her first award.
Meanwhile, the Countywide Trophy has been held at Heydon Grange.
The trophy was won by Tina Broadley and Malcolm Knobel-Forbes by the narrowest of margins.
The competition was a 18-hole medal format for pairs from Essex and Cambridge.
Broadley and Knobel-Forbes' net total of 145 was just enough to see off Helen Leigh and Sue Slater, on 146.
