ALISTAIR Horwood and David Cuance won Royston Golf Club's Gentlemen's Foursomes Stableford.

They beat Nick Hart and Jamie Gower by just three points with a winning score of 37 points.

On the same course, the club's scratch team played their annual match against Cambridge University second and social team.

The format of five 18 hole foursome matches soon had Royston edged out in front after the morning rounds leading 3-2. They continued their good form in the afternoon winning two, halving two and losing just one, running out 6-4 winners.

Two of Royston's most talented juniors represented the club for the first time, with James Sandford and Michael Clapham winning all their games with their respective partners.
