Duo clinch Foundation foursomes

TOP county player Stuart Phillips and his junior partner Adam McKenzie won the Golf Foundation Adult/Junior Foursomes at Royston on Sunday.
Plus one handicapper Phillips and his 24- handicap partner amassed 41 stableford points to win the competition that was supported by president Tom Shaw.
Wayne Hunt and Cole Thompson finished second with 37, while Mike Desmond and Luke Bailey took third place with 35.
David Caunce won the Saturday Medal with an excellent round of nett 66, 4 under par, despite a couple of eights on his card.
The 23-handicapper recovered well on the back nine to finish two shots ahead of 16-handicap Rod Burke.
Junior Champion Oli Bance shot a solid gross 71, nett 68 to pip Ian Osler for third place on countback.
Pam Bonnett was the clear winner of the Ladies Veterans Trophy. Her 38 stableford points left her six points clear of Vi Bauckham and Marjory Humphreys, with Bauckham second on countback.
The countback rule was required again on Sunday as the men competed in a fourball betterball medal. Former club champion Robert Clark and Mark Bonnett emerged victorious with a nett 63.
Runners-up were Stewart Hart and new member Simon Thompson, who contributed six nett birdies and a gross birdie two on the 225 yard tenth hole. Third place went to Colin Clark and Alf Sheehan, with the pair finishing on a very respectable nett 64.
Men's vice captain Roy Ward won the Senior Medal on Wednesday.
The 18-handicapper finished with a nett 71, to push clubhouse leader Jim Hopkins into second place.
Joint third were Peter Mitchell (85-13=72) and Alan Evans (91-19=72).
