ANOTHER excellent all round team performance from the under-12 Blues gave them a well deserved 3-0 win against Knebworth. Starting strongly, Cougars were soon ahead, when George Duffin latched onto a fine pass from Luke Reed, and fired past a stranded keeper. Duffin's second soon followed when his intended cross found the net. Knebworth fought back in the second half but some outstanding marking and defensive work from Cougars kept them at bay. Duffin bagged his hat-trick after converting a late penalty. A hard fought under-10 match saw some fantastic football from Cougars against the top of the league club as they went down 3-2. Knebworth opened the scoring, but Cougars soon rallied one back through Ollie Dent. Knebworth went ahead again, but Daniel Share ensured the equalizer. Knebworth played hard and Cougars found the pressure too much and conceded a goal in the dying minutes. The B team found their Knebworth counterparts too strong as they went down 4-0. The under-13s were soundly beaten by a physical and athletic Apollo side. The Harlow team set the tone of the game, Scott Piggot's shot looked goal bound but took a deflection of the upright and left the visiting Cougars 3-0 down at half time. A brighter start for Cougars in the second half who were forceful in the Apollo half, but were unable to find the elusive goal. Apollo soon found their fourth, shortly followed by an excellent Liam Harler shot for Cougars consolation. Cougars were awarded a penalty, but the effort went high, and Apollo went on to add a further three to their tally.
