THE under-12s travelled to Wymondly and produced their best performance of the season so far to win 4-1.

Led by the inspired Darren Aldridge who scored a fabulous hat-trick, they were never troubled. Aldridge scored twice in the first five minutes, and the home team defence simply never came to terms with his pace and trickery.

Although Wymondly went in 2-1 down at the half, the truth was that they were never really in touch.

The game was put beyond any doubt when Liam Faik rose highest at a corner, and nodded the ball into the top corner.

All that was left was for Aldridge to claim his hat-trick, which he duly obliged with after great work by Faik and Louis Ganellin.

Cougars' youngest team - the under-sevens - recorded two comfortable victories against Hatfield Youth on Saturday.

A Luke Garratt brace and one apiece for Bradley Moon and Reece Knapp gave the A side a 4-0 win while, the second team scored a magnificent 8-0 win. Joe Lally blasted a hat-trick, with Joe Babbage (2), Harry Dookerham and Matthew Inman plus an own goal also on target.

After conceding an early goal against the league leaders Bishop's Stortford, the under-13 Blues were always going to be under pressure. However they slowly got back into the game and were unlucky not to end the half level.

The Blues dominated the second half but spurned several scoring opportunities. Stortford defended well and killed the game off with a late goal.

The under-15s started well against Harlow-based Trident with Jack Clark-Ward striking in the first minute. A Harry Lee-Stevens goal made it 2-0 at half-time, but Trident came back in the second half with a goal but a penalty save from Jack Chapman ensured the three points went Cougars' way.
