This was the scene at Reed Cricket Club on Saturday as cricket throughout the area fell victim to heavy rain. Reed II were due to be hosting Flitwick, but in common with all but one of the 119 scheduled games it was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The Herts League was not alone in seeing its entire programme washed out, with all 70 Cambridgeshire League games, all 10 games in the Tucker Gardner League, and all 30 in the Herts & Essex League also falling victim to the weather.

One team who did not have to worry about the weather was Royston, who had a rare day off, as their division of the Tucker Gardner League has an odd number of teams.
