Cycle Club Ashwell’s U11 rider Nathan Hardy has been crowned the National Schools Grass Track Champion at the British Schools Championship in Leeds.
In the three discipline event, formed of a three lap omnium, 1200m pursuit and 1200m scratch race, Hardy won both a void omnium race, due to a rider missing the start, and the re-run version.
He then clocked two minutes 29 seconds in the pursuit, the fastest in his age category, before finishing with another tight victory, this time in the scratch race. Hardy flew over the line in a photo finish to complete his triple victory.
At the CCA club 10 mile TT, Jackie Field was the fastest Ashwell rider of the evening, clocking a time of 25 minutes five seconds, behind Andy Saunders (Nomads) and Steve Miles (Stevenage).
