OXHEY JETS 5 (I Holdom 2, W Gaddy 2, L Grace) ROYSTON TOWN 2 (C Wellstead, S Snowden) JETS sent Royston back into the bottom six as they gained revenge for the Crows' Valentine's Day victory. Mark Saggers' team stole victory that night after a bizarre series of refereeing decisions but despite a good start, on Saturday, they never looked likely to complete a double. A bright beginning saw Ryan Cannon hit the crossbar, but Oxhey grabbed the opener in the 20th minute when, with the Crows screaming for offside, Paul Turner opened the Royston defence and Ian Holdom shot low into the net. That lead was doubled five minutes later when a terrible back-pass from Peter Flack sent Wayne Gladdy through. Although his low shot was well saved by Barry White, the same player was there to stab the rebound into the net. The Crows reduced the arrears seven minutes before the break with a well-taken Conrad Wellstead goal. However, Gaddy took advantage of the strong wind to restore Jets' two-goal lead with a hopeful punt shortly before half-time. With the wind behind them, the Crows started the second half strongly, and were rewarded in the 55th minute when Greg McLaren needlessly fouled Jez McMurrough, and Stuart Snowden converted the resulting spot-kick. That was as good as it got for the visitors, and a long-range effort from Holdom ended any thoughts of a comeback before Lee Grace sealed Royston's ninth straight away loss in stoppage time. Royston: B White, P Chappell, R Cannon, P Lamont, S Snowden, P Flack (C Silenti), L Rogers, M Saunders, D Jeffries, T Galvin (M Williams), C Welstead (J McMurrough).
