THERE were mixed results for the under-10s against Bishop's Stortford on Sunday.

An entertaining A team game saw the Cougars produce a solid all-round performance.

George Ganelin opened the scoring direct from a corner, and Liam Price made it 2-0 when he followed up Aedan Gaffney's shot and netted from close range.

Some good goalkeeping from Josh Poulton kept Stortford at bay until they pulled a goal back.

But a superb brace from Callum Fisk wrapped things up before Stortford managed a late consolation.

In contrast, Cougars B held out until half-time against Stortford, only to concede four goals after the break.

The under-eight Blues struggled to impose themselves on a strong Fairlands Youth side and eventually had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Man of the match Connor Poulton had a very good game commanding the right side of play. Josh Wyatt made two great saves to keep Cougars in the match.

The Whites got off to a desperate start against the same Fairlands Youth A side, going 4-0 down inside the first 10 minutes after conceding two own goals and a penalty.

Whites then rallied and put in a great second half performance with Sam Ward and Sam Curran upping the tempo. They were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet as the final score finished 4-0.

Charlie Rome's hat-trick ensured the under-nines a victory against Sawbridgeworth.

Cougars battled hard for the win and managed to keep the ball out of their half for the duration of the match.

Buntingford were not so lucky in the second match, going down 2-1. Charlie Owen and Reece Voller played some great football with Sammy Friend strong at the back, and the consolation coming from Sam Rice after a goalmouth scramble.

A disappointing performance saw the under-12s scrap an unlikely point against Bedwell.

Cougars would be the first to admit that they never really got their game going, however, no one could fault the way they battled, and for that alone, they deserved their well taken equaliser that was converted by Liam Faik. Cougars will look to build on this performance, as potentially the sky is the limit if they play to their potential.
