Royston basketball side Corvus continued their great start to the season with another impressive victory over strong side Evans Above at Wodson Park, Ware last Friday.

With a strong playing squad, the decision was made to play the whole game with a man-to-man defence to counter the strong outside shooting of Evans.

This paid dividends with Corvus taking a 15-point lead into half time. Scott Ingrey was able to shake off last week's knee injury and score with his usual drives under the basket and three-pointers.

Nathan Wilson was in superb form with some excellent post play and strong inside moves scoring 16 points during the game. Corvus had their usual slow start to the second half, with poor defence allowing Evans to cut the lead to just five points.

Up stepped Grant Jenkins, who brought Corvus back alive with some excellent shooting to restore the strong lead, assisted by some excellent all round play and point scoring from Scott Williamson.

Veteran players Richard Pallant and Ade Ball, making their first appearances this season, also chipped in with some vital points.

Ashley Judge was strong in defence and attacking rebound to help his side win by 16 points.
