Bassingbourn started the stronger and soon went into a 2-0.
A fantastic corner by Alfie Noades was headed in by man-of-the-match Bradley Calvert and a fine passing move led to Cameron Smith equalising before the break.
In the second half Colts started to play the ball on the ground and it wasn't long before they took the lead through a goal from Noades.
A cracking shot from George Way than made it 4-2 but Bassingbourn pulled a goal to keep it interesting.
Jordan Howe and Smith's second finished Bassingbourn off however to complete an impressive team performance.
