MANUDEN U-16s suffered defeat in their opening match of the season against Royston Town Colts A.
Royston went ahead in the third minute, but Pedro Ghilardi equalised two minutes later.
Royston took the lead for the second time in the match in the 20th minute but again Manuden pegged them back, Riley Frost's freekick levelling the match going into the interval.
In the second-half Royston went in front again but Manuden fought back and Joe Mortimer made it 3-3.
But sadly it was not to be for plucky Manuden, and Royston found a winner in the closing minutes of the match to take all three points.
