ROYSTON Town Colts under-sevens enjoyed a weekend of entertaining football, taking part in the Crow League Cup Finals and the Brian Gunn Youth Tournament.

Colts reached the semi-finals of the Crow League competition, and missed out on a final place following a narrow 1-0 defeat against Stevenage Borough.

The Colts reached the last four courtesy of an impressive quarter-final victory, where they sent Biggleswade packing with a commanding 3-0 win.

In the group stage, Royston registered wins against both Welwyn Garden City Blues 5-0 and Stevenage Colts 3-0, either side of a 0-0 draw with Baldock.

Louis Harward, Theo Reed and Euan Rees scored Royston's goals, while Charlie Johnson impressed in goal, with defender Louis Blair also on fine form.

Royston took part in the Bryan Gunn tournament, held at Norwich City's Carrow Road.

In a strong competition, Royston claimed third spot in their five-team league, bouncing back from two 3-1 defeats, to draw 1-1 and win 2-0.

Royston coach Kenny Blair said: "It was a great couple of days for all involved.

"To play at Carrow Road was an unbelievable experience for them, and watching them run out as their names were announced at the ground was a really proud moment.

"It was a tough competition and they did very well, and they've learned a lot.

"We've got some very talented players.
