Letchworth GC Eagles Gold U11s 1 Royston Town Youth Colts U11s 9
ROYSTON Town Youth Colts U11s eased comfortably through to round three of the League Cup following a 9-1 win away at Letchworth GC Eagles Gold.
A sticky pitch made this game not so much a football spectacle but rather a demonstration of hard work and determination by a dogged Royston team.
Striker Bruce Barnes played brilliantly upfront to score a brilliant hat-trick along with Michael Baulk, Jamie Penn and Keiran Blois who all notched two goals each with Blois’ being the pick of the crop with a great individual run and finish.
The Colts defence stood strong despite a late consolation for Gold and the Man of the Match award was presented to Bradley Whale for his all-round display of solid, intelligent defending and constant work-rate. The Colts will meet Wymondley Park in the next round.
